More Thoughts From The Streets

Srila Prabhupada's book distribution marathon is going on - so far I didn't get a huge quantity of books out but after trying for the last 3-4 weeks, I feel much more Krsna conscious...or rather I understand my lack of it. I am not generally very humble but street corners are nice places to develop a proper attitude. We may think that we are this or that - temple president, sankirtan leader, senior devotee or nice kirtana singer, but people on the streets could not be less interested about these designations and our pride is smashed again and again.
During last weeks I have often meditated on a nice sentence that one of my Facebook friends has on his profile - it is in Finish but it goes something like this: "I'm not anybody nor somebody, although there are other thoughts every now and then."
During the book distribution I also feel much more dependent on the Holy name, if one is not chanting japa seriously in the morning, it will be a struggle there in the street and it maybe anyway...
Lord Caitanya's pastimes are going on all the time, in the form of the sankirtana movement, I hope I will be more qualified to participate them with some realization.

Your Servant
