Full Metal Jacket begins by following the trials and tribulations of a platoon of fresh Marine Corps recruits focusing on the relationship between Gunnery Sergeant Hartman and Privates Pyle and Joker. We see Pyle grow into an instrument of death as Hartman has forseen of all of his recruits. Through Pyle's torment and Joker's unwillingness to stand up against it the climax of part one is achieved with all three main characters deciding their fates by their action or inaction. The second chapter of Full Metal Jacket delves into Joker's psyche and the repeated referal to the fact that he joined the Corps to become a killer. When his mostly behind the scenes job as a combat correspondant is interfered with by the Tet offensive he is thrust into real combat and ultimately must choose if he really is a killer.

Goddamn you Stanley Kubrick. For me, the Clockwork Orange long-established standard for perfection Full Metal Jacket War FMJ only raises the bar. Sitting around bored with in-laws, I slipped quietly into the DVD player, 20 minutes later had stopped talking and everyone is absorbed. Kubrick really predictable, incredibly bright, soundtrack music is so right, and film-Jesusmotherofmary. Ten years before anyone had thought of taking a DivX Movie Full Metal Jacket camera and the operation of it, Kubrick had refined the technique. War is hell? -is surely a vision of hell. Impressive in every way.

Stars: Matthew Modine, Adam Baldwin, R. Lee Ermey, Vincent D'Orfornio, Arliss Howard and Kevin Major Howard. Stanley Kubrick had already established that he was a prominent Hollywood director who made really good films when he left. This is a good movie. It was not great. The movie: Full Metal Jacket is about the many adventures of Private Joker (Modine) who is going through Boot Camp and going to the Vietnam War. The first 45 minutes are intense camp program led by R Lee Ermey idiot playing a heart, making the best performance in the film. The second half of the DVD film Full Metal Jacket is the Joker and his friends in the war, either in combat or playing with dead bodies. My problem with this DVD film Full Metal Jacket is really no middle ground or the same. It's just a great timeline of the life of someone who ends up asking: "Well, what next?" However, Stanley Kubrick has a great war DVD movie Full Metal Jacket here and one of my favorite movies of the war 80 years. My Rating: *** out of ****. 115 min. R for strong violence and language.

I know it's certainly a big call to call this the best Vietnam Full Metal Jacket movie of all time, but this is probably the most realistic of it. It is also a great example of Kubrick Director of the capacity of humans to show objectively, not trying to do if one is bad or not. Basically the Full Metal Jacket War is divided into two parts. The first revolves around the training of seafarers, and highlights the brutality of becoming a soldier. The second part focuses on the battlefield. The interesting thing about this DVD film Full Metal Jacket is not particularly violent but very powerful. This is the psychology of war, how to deal with several soldiers from a mad crazy, and does a great job of representing this. Everything about this Full Metal Jacket movie is great. The performance is a first-class cast of most of unknowns, and the score is used to disturbing effect. Camera shots also brilliantly portraying scenes, often from the viewpoint of the person shot to great effect. And if anything can be said to recommend this film, is that there are many scenes that will certainly never forget. A masterpiece.

Speaking as a Vietnam infantry veteran, I would like to make two brief comments about this movie. The first half is excellent. It is a real, albeit condensed, the picture of basic training. Obviously, the presence of a real retired drill sergeant (Ermey) had much to do with it. But after Kubrick defective imagination takes over. Beginning with the climactic scene of latrines and performance in the rest of the film, this movie: Full Metal Jacket is total Hogwash. I was astonished to biased, totally incorrect, simply inaccurate representation of the actions of the platoon in the war in Vietnam. Kubrick or not advisers, or ignored when it comes to the second half of this movie. Never have I seen a lot of tripe. FMJ for the first half and just rewind and put back in the box when it comes to Vietnam.
