Tuesday ~ 2 hours 45 minutes including 40 minutes at 97% then rode level 2/3. 174tss.
Wednesday ~ 45 minutes active recovery, 30minutes weights. 19tss.
Thursday ~ 2 hours 35 minutes including 90 minutes sweet spot at 90% with ten 10 second explosive level 7 bursts then the remainder at level 3. 174tss.
Friday ~ pretty tired, TSB had been below -15 twice this week and this was my final week in this mesocycle. 45 minutes active recovery. 19tss.
Saturday ~ Rained steadily all day which was good. I didn't feel bad about just letting the fatigue ease it's way out! Did some plyometrics in the evening.
Sunday ~ Milder weather for a change. 4 hour 15 minute level 2/3 ride. Went out to Atherstone then somehow found myself on the outskirts of Burton on Trent! 73 miles and 234tss at an average of 75%. Did some different things, didn't want to ride for any sustained intensity so I concentrated on cadence. I made use of the downhill sections to spin in excess of 110rpm. I have also got lazy on the hills too, so I concentrated in staying seated both when pulling away from junctions and when climbing. I could feel my glutes doing the work and got in an appreciable amount of time in level 4 and 5 as a result. Finished off with a couple of seated level 7 bursts. 234tss.
CTL is now at 87. I'll do a couple of decent workouts this week and then I can afford to ease off over the Xmas week without fretting about the damage it's doing to my PMC! As an aside, when I felt so tired on Friday and Saturday (Shirley said I was extra grumpy), it was good to be able to look at the last 3 weeks training load in WKO (weekly "tss" and "if") and immediately be able to see the reason why. The next good thing was to be able to see that the very best thing to do was to have two easy days.
