First work experience Japan style

Today I had my first test shoot. It's still freezing, and it snowed again too. That said, I walked to Shinsaibashi to be picked up the photographer and makeup artist at 9.30AM. The shoot was not so different from those in Australia, except that Japanese are very efficient perfectionists. Everything only takes as long as it should to get the best result possible. Which is AWESOME when you're sitting around waiting for the camera to go off.

The make up artist was so so so so good. It took a while but the quality of her her work was impeccable. She also gave me a face massage and chocolate. Who am I to complain? The photographer was equally as skilled, adjusting the light to his liking, then shooting a good 30 frames in one go and getting it all over and done with.

The best part of the day was Okonomiyaki, another Osakan food specialty. All I had to do was mention that I wanted to try it, and off to lunch/dinner we went. Despite today being a holiday in Osaka and me insisting that any food would be fine, they drove around determined to find a one of the restaurants specialising in it. It's this kind of egg pancake stuff with cabbage, onion and any meat you want served on a hotplate built into your table. Deeeeeelicious. I hope all my shoots end this way.

I also got some good news, it looks like I might be jetting off to Paris after my Japanese adventure to be set up with a pretty good agency over there. Hopefully that all comes through :) It'd be a great opportunity.

Stay cool, I'll try to stay warm. Dad tells me that sharks are keeping you out of the water back home, so hopefully I'm not the only one feeling the weather blues.

Mucho luvvo, zo xoxoxoxo
