Van Wilder is a guy who has been at his college for seven years. He spends most of his time throwing parties and 'fund raisers'. When his father decides that it's time for tough love, he doesn't pay his tuition. So Van becomes a professional party thrower. At the same time, Gwen who writes for the college paper, is tasked with doing a story on him, but Van is too busy partying to do that. So she writes it using info from people who talk about him and writes an unflattering piece, which doesn't make him happy. He then dares her to see if she can get the true story but is more interested in trying to score with her, which is not easy because she has a boyfriend, who is a snob, and who is not too happy with the amount time she is spending with him. So he tries to get rid of him.

'Van Wilder' is a Van Wilder film that has predictable jokes that have been done before, except for the fact that the gag push a little further. Unfortunately, the math does not add up here. Pushing something else is not equal to be fun. In fact, the Van Wilder Romance movie does not make me laugh more than once. I think guffawed a few times, and that was about it. This is a rather predictable and monotonous ninety minutes. I do not blame Ryan Reynolds, who (as in "Two boys and one girl) is as good as his material. Unfortunately, once again, the material is not worth the effort. National Lampoon films used to be what you're looking for good laughs and free nudes. The problem now is with them that have been overtaken by many others who have taken what we see to the extreme. It is not a positive trend in the movies either. I'm not saying fart jokes make me laugh ever, and I'm not saying that nudity free (there is not enough in this film) is not good, because it is good to me. The problem is that nobody is more intelligent. If you want to laugh while respecting their intelligence, I suggest you go out and rent "some like it hot," or indeed the comedy of the golden age of cinema. Please leave the world of Van Wilder on the platform, because it really does not deserve your time or effort. 3 out of 10.
