| Those of you who are fans of Kevin Smith earlier works (employees, Mallrats and Chasing Amy) may find this family and in some parts disturbing and perhaps even by comparison shopping. Dogma ve fallen angels Loki and Bartleby (Ben Affleck and Matt Damon) trying to make their way back to the sky through a newly established Catholic dogma. The problem with this lies in the fact that, if successful, have been canceled, a decision of God, therefore, God is always right and wrong would ruin of existence. The known presence of Jay and Silent Bob is gratifying and ensures that the essence of the earlier work of Smith, who maintains, however, sometimes the film: Dogma dissidents in areas that seem out of Smith depth. There are some surprisingly touching moments implying that Smith had a lot of thought, similar to that of Chasing Amy. In general, it is a great cast (Linda Fiorentino, Chris Rock, Alan Rickman), and it is clear that, while Smith had written this tongue firmly in cheek. |
| For me Mallrats is the best films of Kevin Smith, is a dogma, but a close second. It really makes the DVD film Dogma dogma Smith returns to the comedy genre. Chasing Amy, the earlier Dogma Fantasy movie is a love story more type of film, but it is a doctrine of the classic comedy. Ben Affleck stars again, with his good friend Matt Damon. Play two angels have been sent from hell to find a loop hole that you can send it back to heaven, if you walk through an arch in a Catholic Church. This is a real winner and original story that makes the really great movie. The cast is actually decently and decided by the casting director. 10/10 |
| I was looking forward to seeing this Dogma Fantasy film after reading all the comments, but what a disappointment. It was only funny. The movie: Dogma was a mess. I thought it was going to see an adult satire, but all that was, it was a sophomoric chaos. What a waste of time and money! |
| I guess I could see why many Catholics do not like this movie. If my religion noted, probably bothered me, too. Not that this Dogma Fantasy is virulently anti-Catholic, tells you. Only only mocks Catholicism in particular. Maybe Kevin Smith was raised Catholic and upset about it? Either way, it's fun for a DivX Movie Dogma that really out there. The summary should be quite clear, so I will not go on a rewrite that for you. Linda Fiorentino, and Salma Hayek are great, as is Chris Rock. Matt Damon showed a little more than I had thought - good for him. I have some things about Ben Affleck. Portrays the role of Bartleby like most of the actors. That's the thing. For this type of DivX Movie Dogma out there, I would have expected to be done beyond this role. But instead of looking like an angry angel who looks like Ben Affleck - too recognizable. It also seems a bit young to play a dark, demonic role. Perhaps if there was more tension lines in his face, or perhaps some imperfections. But what I have seen, the only real bad plays or thugs are idiots. However, he did good enough. I was hoping for more of such well known. Smith also did well. The filming itself is nothing special, really - that makes a much better writer director. Not to say that is a bad director, just average. But he is a writer above average. Rent this Dogma Fantasy if you do not mind crude and sexually suggestive language. It's pretty good. |
| After I saw Chasing Amy, I knew I had to see Dogma. I had already seen and employees Mallrats. Employees thought was good, but I do not think is as good as some critics say. Then I saw Mallrats. And now, as I read my review of Chasing Amy and what I said about Mallrats, I wish I had not written what I said about that. Mallrats was very good. Then I moved to Dogma. And I was astonished. This was one of the best movies I've ever seen. (I know that's what it says about Chasing Amy, but if you see this, you know what I mean) The casting of Ben Affleck, Matt Damon, Jason Lee, Chris Rock, Alan Rickman and worth watching the movie: Dogma alone. Lee and Rickman are more characters but sorta forget that and remember, once you go back and happy they are. Anyway, that's only part of greatness. The written by Kevin Smith is strong, very witty, and handles all sensitive issues, possibly with grace. And nobody said Smith, who has a visual lack of talent, you must just wait halfway through the one part of the film. To cancel it. Furthermore, how to forget the rest of the cast. This is one of the greatest casts I've ever heard. Finally, I just want to say sorry for writing so much and I would say that you should go to Blockbuster to see this immediately. |
