In 1950-something New York, an adventuresome free-lance photographer finds himself confined to a wheelchair in his tiny apartment while a broken leg mends. With only the occasional distraction of a visiting nurse and his frustrated love interest, a beautiful fashion consultant, his attention is naturally drawn to the courtyard outside his 'rear window' and the occupants of the apartment buildings which surround it. Soon he is consumed by the private dramas of his neighbors lives which play themselves out before his eyes. There is 'Miss Lonelyhearts,' so desperate for her imaginary lover that she sits him a plate at the dinner table and feigns their ensuing chat. There is the frustrated composer banging on his piano, the sunbathing sculptress, the shapely dancer, the newlyweds who are concealed from their neighbors by a window shade, and a bungling middle-aged couple with a little yapping dog who sleep on the fire escape to avoid the sweltering heat of their apartment. ...And then there is the mysterious salesman whose nagging, invalid wife's sudden absence from the scene ominously coincides with middle-of-the-night forays into the dark, sleeping city with his sample case. Where did she go? What's in the trunk that the salesman ships away? What's he been doing with the knives and the saw that he cleans at the kitchen sink?

At 54, I was seven years and this is one of the first "grown" I remember seeing movies. I have seen at least ten times since then and realize see something different each time. James Stewart is a photographer in a wheelchair recovering from an accident. He spends time watching his neighbors from his apartment window. He thinks that he witnessed a murder and has trouble convincing his girlfriend, Grace Kelly, to help prove a crime was committed. Three scenes that always stuck with me: (1) Stewart out of his fight against the attacker with flashbulbs (2) the burning kiss (3), cigarettes glowing in the dark apartment. Each bit of a classic. I think this is the best Hitchcock movie. No offense intended toward PSICO, but this Rear Window Thriller film has the most human aspects of fear and terror. The super cast includes Raymond Burr, Thelma Ritter and Wendell Corey.

This is another good Hitchcock thriller. James Stewart, as usual, was the selection as a main player together with the former Grace Kelly pleasant, efficient support provided actress Thelma Ritter, a solid performance Wendell Corey and Raymond Burr villain, who later became his career in the famous actor of the detective Perry Mason. The best thing is that the thriller shows no violent scenes until the end, when the journalist in a wheelchair (Stewart) was captured in its activities by the guilty man (Burr). Notwithstanding this, the DivX Movie Rear Window keeps you always wait for a final discovery of the alleged murderer. So watching the film: Rear Window entertainment, you can see people's lives for 50 years and enjoy the plot of the thriller. Film should be made to see how Hitchcock to the delight of all with a simple plot.
