Low RPM High Force Workout

I went out just before the dawn today, it has gone milder but there was still a frost a some ice around. A strong south easterly wind has arrived which makes it feel almost as cold as yesterday.

I had a short ride planned today, just 90 mins worth of riding in order to maintain CTL but not enough to dig a big TSB hole. I felt ok after yesterday, but experience tells me  to be cautious. So I made use of the time on the bike to introduce some leg strengthening into the equation for the first time this winter. I rode up to Bagworth and back along the A447 over a "moderately hilly" route. For 45 mins I kept my cadence as close to 75rpm as I could and allowed power to rise to levels 4 and 5 on the hills. I made an effort to concentrate on pedalling form, maintaining smooth strong circles whilst remaining seated. When my legs told me that I'd had enough, I pootled back home at a pleasant recovery pace.

85TSS at 77% overall average for the workout, incorporating 56TSS at 85% and 76rpm average higher force content.
