"When you're born, you cry and the world is happy, When they die, the world cries and you are happy" I really did not expect all I have of this movie. It said it was a sad movie, but laughing all the same. I agree with that observation. Might suggest, and then think about aspects of life and death. And all that the life of the inventory in the warehouse to you. Actors / actresses surprise. You will see someone and you think, "I know this person. What show / DVD movie One Last Thing... is that I've seen them, or in one case, what band music." Enjoy. Really worth your time. |
| I am delighted - but not surprised - that this is an indie production, Hollywood tends to make comedies sentimentality or the material for "one last thing ...". Movie _This_ was impressive in both the simplicity and subtle complexity. Each and every "actor" .... although I prefer the participants ... played their role with honesty and sincerity that is rare. Many people, myself included, have had experience with cutting the disease, apparently unattainable dreams, and odd twists of fate that surprising. This movie: One Last Thing... explores the sensitivity to these events, humor, brutal honesty and a real confusion, but the actors (or public) to fall into a pit of "why me" and self-pity. This is _not_ a teenage love story. This is a story about life, love, friendship, dreams, loss, hope and the will to resist and _live_ life to the fullest, regardless of what the destination offers. This is a _MUST SEE_. |
| This film: One Last Thing... was a really good DVD movie One Last Thing... that surprised me a little. When you rent, based on what I had read about it, I was expecting to see a raunchy teen film. Instead, it was not a bad movie-balance comedy and drama in it. In the film, a teenager is dying of cancer. A foundation that grants wishes to young people had to die appear on television to make his "last wish", and everybody thinks that it will request a fishing trip with his favorite football player. Instead, it asks for a weekend with a hot supermodel whose bikini-clad image adorns a wall in a cartel. Then, step by supermodel, which is like a little on the hot-tempered side and has completely exasperated his manager. The model was surprised when she learns about desire and reluctance agreed to meet with him. After a disappointing few sessions, the child is frustrated too. I will leave the rest for you to look at what happens. However, it was a decent way to spend an hour and a half of his time, and I recommend it. It's fun and tear-jerking moments. ** 1 / 2 **** |
| I have to see "One last thing ..." at the Toronto Film Festival to visit friends. I loved Alex Steyermark previous film, "Prey for Rock & Roll" - and could not believe my luck that I was in Toronto for the premiere of this movie: One Last Thing... (although I missed the fun of the premiere and saw him in the second screening "). I did not know what to expect, but this DivX film One Last Thing... is completely different. I do not know how to describe it without giving spoilers - this DVD film One Last Thing... is a complete surprise, incredibly funny and incredibly moving - and you feel good about laughing at the jokes and crying at the sad things. It made me appreciate the people in my life. All the acting is excellent in general - and the three children are the most realistic of the group of teenagers I've seen in the film. The script provides the perfect combination of emotions without SAPPY. The music is incredible. In the selection, the director said he expects good news next spring (2006), so all I can say is that when you go see. |
| I went to see this One Last Thing... Drama movie on the recommendation of a friend and did not know quite what to expect - it was another "teen movie" or something better. Surely it was better. There was humor, but also some poignant sadness. The casting, performances, photography, and all were well-balanced work. More importantly, dealing with the very real anguish against the loss of someone dear - something that has faced recently. History shows very characters' real 'reactions to the situation - not a fake. He referred to many of the questions that one faces in this situation - which is often the fundamental values of strain. With all this, there are many good laughter. All-in-all, certainly worth seeing and deserves a wide audience. |
